Very bad USA Canada East Coast weather current

If you have flights along the Nth American east coast in the next day or so, plan on some delays! In fact, possible delays anywhere in the nth American network, with flow-on effects.

My daughter is there at the moment, her broadway show (and all shows) has been cancelled tonight, subway closing at 11 pm. She leaves on the 108 on Thursday so hopefully no hold ups!

Im hoping it wont be too bad for her as she is on QF108 connecting through to QF16. However, as we all know the 108 is often late at the best of times (although I have to admit it was on time for my husband & I for once 2 weeks ago!).

This might get interesting. Although there was a bad storm, I wonder if as many flights and events would have been pre-emptively cancelled if the forecast was more accurate.

After the bad hailstorm that hit the Eastern suburbs of Sydney years ago and the Weather bureau got smacked for under reporting the weather storm, i get the impression that the WB are now over reporting anything. I guess its similar in the US, but understandably the potential for deaths damage is greater given their larger coastal polulations.

However I was reassured that if QF 107/108 could operate in the midst of that recent "once in a century" "storm" then it was actually going to be a lot milder than originially thought. I was actually surprised that 107/108 was still operating despite the thousands of flight cancellations. Winds at JFK at that time was only 25knots or something similar. So QF obviously had uptodate and accurate meteorology.

best way to tell the weather is still to look out the window.
