Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

Havent bothered to do anything about it, as I was charged the correct amount. But the amount showing on the itinerary is lower.

Things just seem to go from bad to worse with the VA computer "glitches" (shambles may be a more appropriate word).

Tell me I'm wrong, but as the itinerary is also the tax invoice/receipt, declaring a lesser amount than that actually charged would constitute tax fraud, wouldn't it?

It'd also make reconciliation for the pax's business accounts a real PITA.

Not having read through 31 pages about what VA website can't do, I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to change seat allocation once you have booked with VA online. Have just made VA Gold and am wondering whether other seats are now available. Apologies if this has been covered before.

My e-ticket also shows the charge in USD (and was charged to my card in USD), so the whole thing is up the creek.

You have to give them a call unfortunately.

Anyone else think the new single sign-on functionality from the VA website to the Velocity website us rubbish?

I hate the way it open the velocity website as a popup when you logon or get auto logged out. Quite annoying actually.

And of course, logging into the main VA site doesn't seem to log you into the manage booking site............

....... another rushed or perhaps incompetent fix

I still can't believe they are getting away with this. I'd stop flying with them except for the fact they have the one direct flight I need (SYD-TSV).

Trying to check in - it's still a joke.
I'm logged in.
I want to check my bookings.
I have to enter my reservation number OR my Velocity number and password - this one takes the cake - I'm already logged in!!!
Having done that I want to check in.
Lo and behold it's forgotten everything again! Up pops a new browser window!
I can enter my reservation number (AGAIN!) or my Velocity number (BUT I'M LOGGED IN!) then my departure city (BUT I'VE ALREADY SELECTED THE FLIGHT I WANT TO CHECK IN FOR!!!) and my last name (HOW MANY TIMES MUST I TELL YOU I'M LOGGED IN??? IT'S ME!!!)

Just to add insult to injury it then tells me I can't log in until 48 hours or less before my flight. Of course it IS less than 48 hours to my flight but don't let that get in the way of the raging incompetence already demonstrated.

SIX MONTHS and NOT FIXED!

(sorry about the shouty bits)

Yeh it's such a frustrating experience - as far as web user experience goes, I don't think there is a single thing done right.

As other people have mentioned, the checkin process is just so hard, and the lack of a SSO is ever so frustrating.

I flew VA first time this year last month, and didn't believe it that that the process for checking in was signing into site A, redirect and re-signin to Site B, to then be redirected back to Site A and have to manually enter a booking reference.

QFF / QF don't do everything right, but man it's so much easier to use their site.

The mobile check-in to passbook worked fine for me last week 2/2 flights.
Never tried online and after reading the above I don't think I'll ever try it

I always use mobile check in and find it fine.

Likewise.

Again however, it's the silence from VA/VFF about these issues... It really seem they've decided to just put there head in the sand and hope the problems go away!

Personally after reaching WP this year I am definitely not aiming to retain, I'll use up my 4 comp upgrades and then slip down to SG. Maybe..just maybe they'll have their **** together by then.

I can only assume that acknowledging the failings of the website(s) is considered commercially sensitive so you're not going to see it here or anywhere else. The best you'll get is marketing speak about the how the team are working hard to bring new functionality...which never materialises.

Another shambolic experience today, not even going to go into it  Took 4 domestic flights with QF last week, website functions smooth and reliable :)

Agreed on the struggles to use the website. I've only got a few more flights to requal plat, then I will be back to QF until they sort the issues out.
Starting to lose faith in JB's ability to fix VA - the problems are obvious from outside, should be obvious internally, and shouldn't take this long to fix.

I did manage to log in and change my seat eventually. Got all checked in and on to the printing of the boarding passes when I realised the printer I was on wasn't working. I thought I'd just log back in when home and print it out there. Was that easy? When I tried to do the web check-in again it said it couldn't find my booking! Even though it was there on the previous screen. I noted the seat numbers hadn't changed though.

Must try it on the phone. I generally do that for my return flight as I don't have a printer when away.

Use the lounge. I virtually never check-in now on line or phone........BTW, did anyone win the check-in on line promo?

Time to vent, if Virgin are wondering why people gave them a try then headed back to QF, you might want to first look at your website.

I just went to do web checkin for some flights tomorrow.

On QF, I would have:

1. Gone to Qantas - flights to Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Asia. Book airfares at qantas.com.
2. Typed in my PIN (because the site nicely remembers my FF number and Surname)
3. Selected "My Bookings"
4. Selected the booking in Question
5. Selected "Web check in"
6. Select passengers to checkin
7. Confirmed my seat selection
8. Answered the security question
9. Been provided with my BP

Now, on virgin it goes like this

1. Go to Velocity Frequent Flyer | Frequent Flyer Program of Virgin Australia
2. Enter my FF number and password
3. Select "My Bookings"
4. Select the booking in question
5. Select "Web check in"

Up until this point, almost exactly the same as QF, but this is where it all starts to go horribly wrong. At this point a new window pops up, redirected to Virgin Australia | Book flights & holidays with Virgin Australia and the domestic checkin screen

6. Enter my reservation number (what? oh hang on I'll get it from the other screen ... no you won't that screen has logged you out of velocityrewards and kicked you to the login screen!!), depature city and last name then click checkin.
8. Select passengers to checkin, then click on "select seat"
9. Confirm my seat selection and click "check baggage"
10. Answered the security question
11. Confirm that I'm not taking any checked luggage then click "checkin"
11. Finally get my BP.

By number of steps it is only 2 more, but I tell you it is one of the most frustrating experience known to man, and not one that I'm in any hurry to repeat.

Why, oh why are the velocity and virgin websites integrated. This has to be one of the worst IT/marketing failures in recent times.

That's my 2 cents, feel free to rip shreds of me if you don't agree.

Have you tried checking in on your phone for Virgin? very easy and works perfectly fine and just pick your BP at airport. Might save that future heart attack...sorry tongue in cheek.
