Velocity Transfer Bonus from Amex Aug 2025

With the bonus it works out slightly better to go Amex >> Velocity >> KrisFlyer rather than direct to KF.
Any idea why we Aussies get shafted with 3-to-1 from AU Amex to KrisFlyer versus 1-to-1 from US Amex to KrisFlyer?

We got the same promo and am tempted to move a large amount of points over to Velocity then onto KF? Our end goal is to hold our points with kf as there saver fares plus taxes and good availability in business class is great. Is this better than moving them directly to kf now that there redemption rate is 3 to 1 ouch !!

Yeah I TFd my Amex points balance to Velocity with this 20% offer....if I do decide to TF to KF, it is is slightly better via Velocity with this 20% bonus offer

Using 100,000 Amex MR points as an example:

@ 20% bonus, you would get 50,000 + 10,000 Velocity. Divide by 1.55 would get you 38,709 in KF.
@ 15% bonus, you would get 50,000 + 7,500 Velocity. Divide by 1.55 would get you 37,096 in KF.

If transferring direct to KF, 100,000 Amex MR would convert to only 33,333 in KF, so just about any form of Velocity bonus will be ahead versus transferring direct at 3-to-1.

I just moved a big chunk of Amex MR to Velocity with 20% bonus then moved to KF. Each transfer was almost instant, with the Velocity > KF taking about 2 minutes after logging out and back in again. Fees & charges on SQ redemption through Velocity is a killer, although not as bad as EK fees on QFF.

Looks like online transfer is not working so I called Amex to process it over the phone and both the transfer and bonus were instant
