Hi Guys,

Just wondering if we get lounge access and benefits if flying on a SQ ticket but MEL - SIN leg is a Scoot flight?

The Mrs is a Velocity Gold member

Regards

Velocity and Scoot are not partners, thus Lounge Access is extremely unlikely.

Even top tier members with SQ (Solitaire PPS) do not get lounge access flying Scoot. Only way to access a lounge is paying or through Priority Pass and the like.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Flew MEL-SIN SQ and SIN-IPH TR two weeks ago on SQ ticket credit to VA (I am VA Gold). NO lounge access at Changi, NO status or points on the TR leg.

Can you claim KrisFlyer miles instead?

TR flights can be credited to SQ (SQ is the only program that you can credit TR flights to) which earns both miles and elite miles.

It's also worth noting that there are zero benefits for VA status holders flying on TR however there are benefits for SQ status holders (Silver, Gold and PPS club when flying on Scoot).

For PPS Club they get an extra 5kg baggage (must purchase at least 20kg), automatically assigned standard seats, board me first (which includes priority check in and boarding) plus a one time per booking flexibility to waive change fees.

Silver and Gold KrisFlyer Elite status holders get the same extra baggage, same auto standard seats and same board me first however they don't get the one time flexibility.

None of SQ's own status holders including those with the top Solitaire PPS status get lounge access before TR flights (even when booked with a SQ flight number). Much worse then the QF/JQ policy which allows all QF status holders access to QF operated lounges before JQ flights.
