Hi all,

Before I ring Virgin and possibly make a fool out of myself - I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on the following scenario -

MEL - OOL travel date NOV 7, booked Oct 19 - Flight DJ725 - Saver Fare - Status Credits earned - 30, Base Points - 745, Bonus Points - 745

MEL - OOL travel date NOV 21, booked Oct 19 - Flight DJ725 - Saver Fare - Status Credits earned - 15, Base Points - 545, Bonus Points - 545

I am a Platinum Velocity member.

I can't work out why two trips - same flight etc would have different SC's and different points allocated to it ?

Thanks in advance - hopefully :)

Brooke

I have a couple of similar transactions, and would also be interested in an answer to this.

Was there a double SCs promo on for the 1st date?

The points are easy to explain - they are based on how much the ticket cost.

MEL OOL is 15SC, so the double offer is in play!

Shortly after the status match, a number of folk were offered a double Status Credit promotion:

We are pleased to offer you double Status Credits* on all flights you book with the Virgin Australia group of airlines^ between 14 and 24 October 2011 for travel between 15 October and 18 November 2011.

Was there a requirement to sign up for this promo or did it occur buy default?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I don't belive there was a requirement to register, certainly didn't appear to be one.
That is correct. The original targetted double SC offer went out by email and there was no requirement to sign up or register, just book and fly within the nominated dates. Shortly after it became a general offer to all members for a later period. Looking at the travel and booking dates of Brooke01 it fits perfectly with the original targetted offer. Also, if you still have your itinerary you will find that your saver fares would have been around $149 one way and $109 the other as the points are calculated on the cost of the ticket, as 777 mentioned earlier.

Thanks for the prompt replies everyone. I would say that my travel dates came under the "Double SC" period. Even though I was not targetted initially via email - if it was made available to the general public - then that would make sense.

Thanks again - much appreciated :)
