Hey everyone
I have an award flight booked using velocity points in Etihad J Class (125,000 points plus taxes) from Munich to Sydney at the moment. I now need to get to Brisbane - there are no flights available on Etihad to Brisbane so I am wondering whether I could add a SYD-BNE flight on VA for no extra points cost or change fee?
Also, what would you advise to be the minimum transfer time considering an 0720 arrival on Etihad?
Thanks

If you booked the reward on the phone and it is on the EY codes, then there is a very good chance there is no change fee (VA's current policy is no change fees on partner redemptions).

However there will be extra points required - or at least there are if you look to book online BNE->MUC - the routings via MEL and SYD always use more points.

If you booked the flight online there will definitely be change fees.

Given that you can't check your bags all the way through, it'd probably be easier simply to buy a one way flight - will usually be less than $100.

I don't transit Sydney often these days - but I'd probably allow 2 hours or so, given it can take a while to clear immigration etc.

Recently had a 3 hour transit in SYD. Managed to get onto a flight one hour earlier making it a 2 hour transit. However I was travelling HLO. Personally would consider 3 hours the minimum for peace of mind. Can't help you with your other question. I don't know.
