I'm looking at booking some economy tickets for my wife, daughter and I.

We will be flying Adelaide to Seoul and then Back to Adelaide from Tokyo.
Is there any consensus on whether it's better to do this via the Velocity website or to transfer my points to Krisflyer?

I have approx 180k points to work with, and I'm happy if I only get outbound on points.

Velocity transfer of points to Krisflyer is not 1:1.
When transferring from Velocity Frequent Flyer to KrisFlyer, the conversion rate will also be at a rate of 1.55 Velocity points to 1 KrisFlyer mile.
180,000 VA ~ 116,000 Krisflyer
Have you looked at the cost in points?

Availability will be better on KrisFlyer, so for 3 pax it may be your only option. Best to just search and work it out.
