Hello I recently asked velocity to refund me 2,000 expired points from a va flight in 2006 and they completely and utterly where rude toward me saying that they can't help me......
I felt peeved yeh
Help please
Thanks Clinton

So when did they expire? Given the flight was eight years ago I'm surprised they didn't laugh out loud.

Clarification on today's date please - it is Aug 17 correct? Not Apr 1? You yankin' our chain Clinton? Or is there more to this story?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Airlines usually allow you to claim for past flights back a few months... I've never heard of them allowing it back a few years... if so I reckon I might do very well out of Qantas ;)

From what your saying I'm guessing the points were credited to your account, but then lost them in 2010. That's 4 years ago, why are you only just noticing this now?

I guess the OP's point is they were rude. Assuming they were, irrespective of the question customers should be treated with respect.

However don't hold your breathe waiting for those points.

2,000 points is worth, what? $30 or so?
Take Virgin to court.....

Rude in what way though? Ask a dumb question, expect a dumb answer....

I've worked in a Support Call Centre for a global firm in Brisbane, speaking Australian English. Sometimes it would be really hard not to laugh/have a go at the person at the other end of the line because of there attitude/lack of knowledge/still thinking they were right ect.

Not that long ago I came across my original Velocity account opened in 2006, when I wasn't flying much. Looked up the details and saw that 741 points expired in 2010. Wrote it off at the time but I have to say cjradloff had I have read your post first I would have chased 'em hard ! Peeved and entitled, yeh ;-)

While I understand the frustration of missing out on your points ( I'd be upset too ) It's a bit unreasonable to expect them back... Compare this to wanting a refund from a product you purchased in 2006....

They told me that they expired in 2010 I claim I never recieved an email from them...
I wouldn't be surprised.

FWIW My HotelClub loyalty points expired a few years ago as I had a couple of years of inactivity. I sent them an email mentioning they couldn't do that and requested my points be reinstated. Points were reinstated.
