Vegemite under 100mls for carry on

Yep it is a gel, and lipstick/gloss is also supposed to be put in your LAG bag at international, although not an issue as always under 100mls.

At LHR, one of the security check staff put it succinctly: if you can spread it on your skin [regardless whether you'd actually do it], it belongs to LAG.

Last time I was on QF INT returning from OS they had no vegemite on the PLANE in Business!!!
Had been waiting 7 weeks for some...
Mind you they dont have edible bread either...just crusty rock hard fancy stuff, why dont they just use a loaf of Tip Top for toast???

Flying home from SIN the other day I ordered “toast” with whatever else was the main plate and that’s what turned up. Toast. No butter, no marg. Just two bits of rock hard toast…

There was probably some extra boxes I was supposed to tick 😏.

You got what you asked for..lol
Was it QF?

And the frozen butter is another problem...

On QFi breaky you can pick vegemite and some others like jam or honey IIRC...on other carriers no vegemite is forgivable but not on Qantas.

Last time I was in QFi First lounge, I didn't believe my ears: who comes to a good lounge and then proceeds to order toast & chips (fries) for their meal? And it wasn't just a lone stray traveller but a group of four all going for it...🤭

Personally I think 2g per slice of toast is the perfect amount (vegemite is not designed to be slathered on ala peanut butter), but I am able to easily cope travelling for a few months sans vegemite.

For me a huge part of travelling is the joy of eating local cuisine. Why eat the usual Aussie stuff that you can easily indulge in at home year round?

So it’s a “Royale with cheese“ in Paris? :)

Completely agree regarding the joy of eating local cuisine. As for the serving size… What’s wrong with slathering Vegemite ala peanut butter? One should be able to at least taste the condiment on one’s toast 😜

Put simply, if the salinity of my blood isn’t rivalling that of the Dead Sea after a couple of slices of toast and Vegemite, then I feel there’s a problem! 😆

Nope, my travel philosophy is that it is only OK to eat McDonald's in the USA (but there are far better choices) or at an international airport where you don't have lounge access and it's the only affordable/safe option (or needed for free wifi).

I generally avoid chain/franchises at home and abroad.

Ok this is an odd one but I'm travelling on Friday out of Brisbane international (carry on only) and am trying to find Vegemite small enough to that is allowed for carry on.

This sort of thing would be perfect:
Amazon sell this (which I've ordered despite being more then I want) however the shipping is giving me sometime between 22 Dec and 24 Jan (not very helpful).

This is one of several flights so buying a large jar air side in Brisbane is out of the question.

I'll have access to both the Qantas and Air New Zealand lounges so I'm hoping that maybe they might have the small things of vegemite that you'd normally find in the breakfast buffet and I'd ask for a few. Has anyone been through either lounge recently and seen any or happen to know where we can get some small enough Vegemite?
could you not put it in a small container under 100ml? just a cheap one from Kmart or something?

At what point does something become a “liquid”? Vegemite seems no more a liquid than my lipstick.
peanut butter is also a liquid I found out when mine got confiscated once
