Hi there

Virgin Blue appear to be running a normal weekday schedule on xmas day between MEL & SYD and fares are pretty good for travel on this day.

Most MEL-SYD are $55-$69 only 1 flight priced at $110, good idea to leave the kids with the in-laws and take the missus to SYD for xmas lunch:D

Coming back in the arvo is between is between $110 & $140 for some reason:confused:

It seems Melbourne is too good to leave at xmas, and the Sydney people feel a need to jet down here.

Qantas as usual, are gouging the the public for daring to disturb their xmas:evil:

Cheers

That will be because more people want to travel in the afternoon. Many people will want to spend the morning with one part of their family, then take an afternoon flight to see another part of their family for dinner.

Prices are generally inversely proportional to the popularity of the flight, especially as it gets closer to flight date, and Christmas Day is no different to any other day as far as the price of tickets is concerned.

Maybe something to do with 22 men dressed in white pajamas running around a footy ground for 5 days throwing/chasing/hitting a little red ball. ;)
