Hi everyone.New to forums.
As i can only afford economy fares on international flights i was wondering on your opinions between Qantas and Vaustralia economy . I haven't been on Qantas international since 1988 .Have been on Air Pacific and Philipine Airlines , economy of course , which weren't as good as my previous experience on Qantas. I travelled to LAX earlier this year Vaustralia economy and thought it was quite good.Planning another trip to the States next year.Would you recommend Qantas or Vaustralia economy.

Welcome midcoast1.

A few points/questions.

Is there anything in particular which is important to you when flying? e.g. space/service/Frequent flyer points?
Would you be willing to consider other options? (E.g. Air NZ via Auckland or Delta?)
If flying with Qantas, It would be possible to get a flight on the A380 (The Qantas A380 implementation schedule), Many people who have experienced this, claim a better flight experience.
Do you do much domestic flying? if so, with which airline?

Hi midcoast1 & welcome.
I have flown both QF A380 & VA economy over the last 4 months & there is not a lot splitting them

VA
- Better seat pitch & width by about an inch each
- FA's are more personable
- IMHO I actually found the seats more comfortable

QF A380
- Very quite aircraft , although VA 777 is pretty good also ( in compassion to 747)

Both IFE are good , inflight service comparable , although I found that VA are a bit more forthcoming with service.
I have found on each occasion VA to be cheaper than QF , this obviously can vary from time to time depending when your travelling

So I'm probably leaning a bit more towards VA over QF , but , If you haven't tried the QF A380 , its definitely worth giving it a go.

There is also United & Delta also to consider direct to LAX. Unfortunately I haven't used either , but maybe other AFF's might be able to comment on them .

Just my 2 cents worth.

I used to do quite a bit of domestic while i was lived in Melbourne for 4 years .Only used Qantas then. But have since used Jetstar , Tiger (once and once only) and Virgin.More international now.I admit i did pay the extra $110 for exit row on return on VA this year.I was just wondering about the overall economy difference between the two.I can basically travel anytime so low season i would probabely do so might give A380 a go this time.
