vancouver transit

hi all,
quick question, i want to fly into vancouver and transit straight through to mexico city.

when arriving in vancouver airport do i go through passport control and customs?
i am flying with aircanda.
or are you able to skip it because you are transiting directly?

If both flights are on the same itinerary, then you shouldn’t need to clear customs, just check your bag straight through and collect both boarding passes.
