Vancouver for 3 days and 4 nights

i know there are many who have travelled to Vancouver but am hoping to get this consolidated into one thread for travel.

In late May we arrive on a Wednesday evening and staying in Auberge Hotel until we leave on a Sunday to commence a cruise. I know there’s Butchart Gardens, Stanley Park and the Bridge. But any tips - restaurants, places etc would be great. I’ve done so much planning for the cruise and the pre Grand Canyon trip I’m all planned out! TIA.

No I'm actually off on a drive across to Whistler and Banff and inbetween.

Butchart gardens is on Victoria Island. Worth a visit to the island, but you probably have enough to do in 'Hongcouver' and surrounds.

Grouse Mountain (you can get there on public transport), Sun Yat Sen Gardens and Capilano Suspension bridge are three activities that come to mind. You could also take a Harbour Air flight to Victoria, which is an interesting experience in itself, and pick up a Butchart Gardens tour from there. Then either fly or BC Ferry back.

I'm not a great diner-out so can't help you there.

I loved Butchart Gardens and there is a restaurant on Vancouver Island called Point no Point which was excellent.

Yep, Grouse Mountain and the suspension bridge were on my list when I visited many years ago. Stanley Park was fun, I spotted many squirrels and a raccoon digging through a garbage bin! There's an aquarium at Stanley Park, I liked that. We drove and took the ferry to Victoria, was quite nice. Granville Island/Markets is also worth taking a look at.

Auberge is a good choice of hotel

A sea plane joy flight on the harbour
Just walking along the harbour side at Coal Harbour (Cardero's for a good pub food on the water, or Lift for fantastic views / open air. ) Be like a local and ask for either the 'Burrowing Owl' Cab Sav or the 'Blasted Church' merlot
Granville Island & the markets there

Day trip up Grouse Mountain
Museum of Anthropology at Uni of BC (fet your fix of Native Canadian culture)
Gastown is a good restaurant area walking distance from downtown.
Yaletown is another one, a few metro stops away

The airport is connected to downtown by a good metro.'Airtrain'

You could do a day trip to Victoria (capital of BC), on Victoria Island - abt 40 mins flight. Its very pretty in spring; i think going beyond Victoria would be too much though.

OR catch the ferry to Sidney on Vancouver island (day trip there and back). Very scenic through many small islands - chance of spotting an Orca.

I thought I checked properly before posting and there wasn’t any reference to Vancouver there? My bad if so. Oh I think I just looked at the other one - Destination guides I think. I was also hoping to get snatches here rather than reading through a slab of TR’s.
