VA wetleases 777 to EY once per week

VA should extend their AUH flight to LHR if possible.
 
That would actually be lovely but unlikely
-Not in JB's vision
-Requires feeder passengers in AUH since not everyone is off to LHR. Not sure how happy EY would be about that.
-Not enough aircraft availability for 3 flights a week even.

I think the first step would hopefully to see daily AUH flights ...

I don't think we'll see any changes in the international long haul routes being flown by VA until they get more aircraft to play with, which will likely be towards the end of this year. Probably more A330's though, rather than more 777s.
