VA Status Upgrade Bag Tags

Are VA still sending out bag tags when you earn the next status level up? eg Red to Silver, Silver to Gold etc ...?

If so, does anyone have any idea what their time-frame on this is like?

I don't think so. I got Gold but didn't receive a thing from VA. It is worth mentioning that I was made Gold via the Discover Gold program, rather than the traditional Red -> Silver -> Gold

I got Gold via the Status Match Gold program - received nothing.
I gave gold to my partner - he received the full welcome Gold pack with the membership card and the 2 bag tags.

Called Virgin several time and was told I would receive my card by the end of October.

I have gifted gold to a mate - will check with her if she's got anything. How long after you gifted Gold did your partner get the welcome pack?

I pinged VA on the chat in June and they said that they will send one in the next 15 days ... and I'm still waiting ;) I'm not expecting it to happen anytime soon ... I've got the card in my mobile wallet and that should be fine

It took less than 10 days to receive the welcome pack !
Which was surprisingly quick
 
I finally received today my welcome Gold Status pack. Includes the card and the baggage tags.

I was status matched the 20th of June - and we are in October - quite long ☺️

So, UPDATE : Got a call from Velocity today that they have now processed my request (not a request, I asked a query if I'd be receiving a physical Gold card) and I should receive the card in the next 14 days ...
 
I have been gold since mid June due to discover gold. Flown a couple of times. Have had no letter or welcome pack. Flown a couple of times, lounge in Brisbane was the same as lat time I flew through there 6yrs ago with less food and drink options, Gold Coast wasn't even open. Honestly apart from the seats being a little better I am yet to be convinced that Virgin is worth keeping status on.

I got upgraded to Silver on 24th Jan. The Silver bag tag came 18th Feb. So almost 4 weeks later.

I think they've moved to a digital first approach for the Silver tier.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Gold and Platinum both enjoy two additional bag tags, one being the original style sans hole punch - a total of three.
 
Data point: my partner who earnered platinum 13 March received pack with bag tags etc today.

For reference: With the current double status promotion my partner went from silver to platinum within a 6 week period. The gold pack arrived 2-4 weeks after earning but as referenced above, the platinum took much longer to receive.

Patience is a virtue. X

I showed her the bag tags and she was ?meh? Different strokes for different folks.

Another data point - I reached Silver on 28/3 - no bag tags or welcome pack to date (other than the "Welcome to Silver membership" email). I have since reached Gold last week, but not sure if they will send me a welcome pack.

Same here, but Silver on 10/4 and Gold on 7/5
