It's not their fault that airlines don't provide this information. You do however get normal availability which might provide some indication of awards even if only a rough guesstimate.

It is easy enough to check VA award & upgrade availability by doing "dummy"award Bookings and seeing the offerings.

Having posted that, E/F has much more to offer than that.
