VA reward points validity

I have 25,000 reward points with a review date 19 Nov 2014.
Do I have to use them - book or travel by the 19 Nov or else loose them?

Some were earned in October - will they expire Oct or are they all on the review date?

Sorry, but I have trolled the fine print and can't find an answer - can someone please help?

Are you referring to Status Credits or does your account say that your points expiry is 19th November? When was the last time you had any activity on your account ie. earned points for anything?

I guess you have some level of Velocity status - that is what a review date is for, not redeemable Velocity Points.

So, forget that 'review date' - You only lose points so with no activity in a consecutive 36 month period.

When were your last points earned, transferred or redeemed? You have three years from that date before any would expire.

9.1.4 If a Member’s Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership Account is inactive for 36 consecutive months the Member’s Velocity Frequent Flyer Points will expire. This will occur if the Member has not earned, redeemed, or transferred Points to or from their Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership Account for a period of 36 consecutive months or if the Member is not participating (as a contributor or beneficiary) in a Family Pool. A Member’s Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership Account will remain active in the event that their Points expire due to inactivity."

I have silver status 390 and points balance 25,928.

I think I understand!!!!!!!!! It is only the silver status I will loose if I don't maintain the status by 19 Nov 14. My points are valid for 36 months???

Is there a time frame that I can transfer my points to someone else (within that 36 months)?

None of your points will expire as long as there is some sort of activity in your account every in the last 36 months.

All you have to do is take one flight every 3 years and your points will never expire

You can transfer your points to me anytime you like

Hi gran42, as other members have correctly pointed out, your Velocity Points will not expire unless your account remains inactive for a consecutive period of 36 months. You don't necessarily have to take flights for your account to stay active. Activity also includes earn, redemptions and transfers. I hope this puts your mind at ease.
