VA Partner - Delta - Lounge Question

Does presenting oneself as a (complimentary) VA lounge member help? Delta agents are much more used to granting access to lounge members (including partner lounge members from Alaska Airlines) on domestic itineraries than based on status for domestic itineraries, since VA elites are the only ones who get status-based access on domestic itineraries.

That may be complicated because it seems that paid VA lounge members don't have access to Delta lounges. (I could be mistaken about that.)

Hello,
I'm flying VA from Mel-Sydney, then next day flying DL SYD-LAX-Detroit-Appleton with 2-3 hrs intervals.
Is it worth me joining Delta Sky Lounge for a 30 day membership ($90).
And then complete same (reversed) trip back home.

Anybody can share of their experiences?
I'm VFF Silver at the moment and hope to gain lots of SC's & VFF points.

Cheers

It may be worthwhile - it depend on what you would use them for (e.g. A shower at LAX before heading onward is brilliant)

Note that you can no longer use the 30 day membership to access VA lounges on your return to Oz.

And you can't use any Delta Sky Club membership to access a lounge at the SYD international terminal, even when flying on Delta metal. So OP would be paying $90 for club access at LAX and DTW in each direction. $22.50/entry. May or may not be worth it; probably not quite for me. If you have a travel companion, the companion can enter the same lounges as well, which would push it down to $11.25/person/entry, which probably would be worth it to me.

Thanks ashill for that info, looking at our tickets in more detail,
we have a 6 hr gap between our flights from LAX-DTW.
We have now also added some extra flights to LAX-LV McCarran-LAX
so I guess a shower will be delightful!

Hi AFF members, just for an update. I purchased the Sky Lounge 30 day pass. We flew with Delta all the way.
It was wonderful to use in LA ( we were there x 3 times), and found the lounge a great quiet place to chill out. However, the desk staff at the Sky Lounge in Detroit were rude and unwelcoming to us. I had printed out the temp card in color, and when I rocked up to the desk, I was greeted with "and what do you call that thing" you should have received a real card in the mail, if you want to come in here.
