OK so a quick question. We are a family of 8 - 2 adults, 5 kids, 1 infant. We have two trips coming up, one to Vanuatu in July and the other to Cairns in a couple of weeks.

My question relates to lounge access as WP. My understanding is I can have 3 guests plus 2 children and infants under 2 can enter without charge. This accounts for 7 in our family, but means one of my kids will technically not have access to the lounge. Do you know if they will likely allow the extra child or should I be looking to purchase a pass for the extra child?

How long is a piece of string? I think everything depends on the day you enter the Lounge, how busy it is and how generous the staff are on the day. How young is your child? Maybe their young age will give you some leverage in your application for inclusion, as they won't exactly be hitting the top shelf scotch while they're there.....

I don't know the answer to this, but I think it's already extremely generous that they would allow 7 people into the lounge with just one person having status. So if you need to purchase a lounge pass for the 8th person, I don't think that's too bad. My gut feeling is they'll let you all in though.

Kids are 15, 8, 7, 6, 3 and 15 months, so pretty much only the teenager will get much value out of the lounge :)

I'd love to see them smile and wave you through. Simply for the fact that you have 6 kids. Quite an epic achievement in this day and age. Good on you!

No brainer. Massive achievement! I hope you get a VA Angel not a VA Devil. ;)
