VA Economy Service changes - "Staff will be able to assist"

Flew QF on the direct HBA-CBR flight recently (usually wouldn't touch QF with a bargepole but it was the only decent arrival time I could get to be able to drive to country NSW the same day before dark) and was interested to see whether they still included snacks, seeing as VA have given Y snacks the flick, unless you want to pay for them of course. Trolley came around, cold and hot drinks available and included in fare, as was quite a substantial - and delicious - biscuit (one of these Snowy Mountains Cookies), so quite happy with that for a 90 minute flight.

Flew VA in J on the way back CBR-MEL-HBA and wasn't overly impressed by what was on offer.

I flew Regional Express MEL-SYD yesterday. I had checked in, the person attending the check in said “let me find a better seat for you” and gave me a boarding pass for 1A. I was actually mostly grateful to have lounge access so I could charge a few devices, and it was pretty well kitted out too (slightly better than a Qantas regional lounge).

It was a 5pm flight and I had dinner plans so I refused the meal, but had a few glasses of wine. My seat buddy had a very nice looking chickpea salad, came with a little baked dessert and bread roll. And that was on a $39 fare!
I can’t imagine I’ll be flying Virgin again unless flight schedules necessitate it!!

Thanks for that, Lis.
O/T: now, we have to wait and see what sort of FF program Rex will bring out.
And if they will have a status tier level.
Might put my flights to Rex if they do bring out a better program than VA2, now that so many ways of earning VA points (non flying activities) now no longer exist.

And it looks like Boost Juice has been added to the Economy BoB, selected juices plus Boost branded snacks stocked onboard.
