A 777-300 will operate a one off flight tomorrow at 10:30 from SYD-MEL, bookable online flt no. DJ9502
 
If I was in Sydney I would! I've not been on the 777 yet...
 
Kind of tempting to do a joy ride MEL-SYD-MEL ... is anyone else thinking the same?

Also - wondering whether Velocity status pax travelling on a premium fare will be in the J cabin?
 
We thought this one might interest you!

It will be a limited service, and the J cabin will be run as PE.
There will be no self-service bar.

Check in will be one hour prior, from the domestic terminal.

Its pretty exciting to see her on the domestic network! :)

I'm thinking of it, particularly since it will qualify for double SCs for me under the current offer.

Great news , but didn't think the 777 would fit the domestic terminal . I assume it will be out of Gate 40 , where you depart your 330's ?

The thought had crossed my mind. Can get up to SYD in the morning for $135, then back in Premium (J seats?) for 10400 points + $20. Very tempting.
 
Booked a return trip. Leaving MEL very early on DJ803, and then coming home on DJ9502. First time on a B777.

Just to confirm, I have already checked in online. Is this OK? Or do I have to recheck once I get there? And will it be leaving from T2 or T1?

No, but when I went to check it allowed me to choose anywhere in the plane, so I chose 2K and I seemed to go through (i,e I printed the boarding pass). But now when I look at the booking my seat selection is gone and it wont allow me to recheck in. I think this means we will have to check in at the airport. But as a gold member I still hope I get to sit in PE or J.

If anyone knows this will really help a lot.
