Using Up my FF Points

It should be 70,000 miles per person with one leg in First or 60,000 miles per person with both legs in business.

Don't really need the detour but good to go somewhere different for a change.

I know I'm coming late to this.. but the award without the stopover would be just 40K in First, 30K in business one way per person.
Understood. I was referring to either return or Multi-city booking First on outbound leg and business on inbound leg but after looking at the co-payment for the infant I'm not going anywhere near First class on any leg.

Scrap my earlier post - I got confused between whether you were flying one way or return. With the return you would have got the free sector intra asia. Makes for a fairly sweet deal - except for adding the infant!

Can anyone think of any routing to SE Asia from SYD/MEL/BNE that is bookable online and involves multiple flights? Most of the routings I have tried are with TG and all one stop unless going via AKL.

I sometimes book CBR-SIN-BKK on SQ through Mileage Plus (via the call centre), so I guess you could book the same from SYD/MEL/BNE. Other than that, I think you'll be struggling to find much. Probably won't save very much.

Hey all, sorry to ask a baggage question here but can't seem to find the answers anywhere.

Used up 40k pts to fly F class SYD-BKK-HKG-SIN on TG (last leg UA), but can't wrap my head around whether or not I can (or should) collect luggage in BKK and again in HKG. I should state I'm happy to fly HLO, but since the layover in BKK is about 16hrs and I'm intending to visit my wife's cousins, I'm just wondering whether I can use my F baggage allowance to take things for family if I need to. Anyone here have any experience with this?

If that is on the same itinerary you should be able to check luggage through, short check luggage if you want to collect luggage in BKK and also check in luggage at any point along the way.

Interesting routing.

Thanks JohnK, didn't think of short-checking. It is all on one itinerary, and yep, when the routing came up in this class I was not going to argue  never been to HK and have 8 hrs between flights so will run around town for a few hours.

Yes, it does come up sometimes on the UA reservations system if there's F award availability on UA between HKG and SIN (or vv), and you request SYD-SIN or SIN-SYD in F. I've done it both ways, but prefer to change the UA F to SQ J.

I've booked SYD-BKK-HKG-BKK-CNX//BKK-BNE in business with 2 legs on 744, 1 leg on 773, 1 leg on A350-900 and last leg on 787. Can't select seat for domestic flight on A350-900 but everything else is fine. Upper deck on 747.

Now to try and book another trip with wife and daughter.

I think it's checkin only for domestic flight. Yesterday I booked F SYD-HKG with a stopover in BKK in March. Didn't really want to go to HKG but wanna make the most out of it lol might head to Macau instead.

Only 80,000 left now. Might as well book the same trip for later next year.
