Using SilverKris Lounge on short stopover

Is this on a journey to or from Australia?

It's to Australia (and the US) that the 1:15 time limit applies. Not from Australia - unless travelling onwards to the US (or another part of Australia !)

I think the time is actually now 1hr 15 min or there abouts.

Bugger. But thanks for the info. It should be noted that, assuming this hasn't changed too, the minimum-time-before-flight is a "worst case". I've previously bought DF alcohol ~45 minutes before a flight back to Australia - the people who do the rounds of the DF shops to collect the alcohol and take it to the gate hadn't gotten to the particular shop I was at yet.

Isn't that what I said?

Is this on a journey to or from Australia? If to, you may struggle with alcohol...

Hi all thanks for the advice - to recap my trip I had a shorter stopover than expected in Changi on the way to Manila due to a late arriving flight so had to actually head to the next gate straight away which luckily took a few minutes. On the way back thought I'd have more time to shop but I caught a bug whilst overseas so pretty much felt drowsy and miserable the whole time so no shopping was done!

Did not get to try the Krisflyer Gold lounge in Changi at all, no time really. Silverkris in Manila is not as bad as I thought it would be but the United Lounge being used temporarily in Melbourne is a bit underwhelming though the staff at all have been great.

Great advice given on the printing out of VA benefits and taking it with me. On the way there I was fine but on the way back in Manila and in Changi I had to pull out the paperwork twice as I was questioned as to why I was showing a Virgin Gold card rather than Singapore... I guess it's a training thing but no biggy. Manila were fine once I showed them, the guy at Changi was asking me why it didn't show some sort of indication on my boarding pass.... didn't know they were supposed to, just got told to flash the card.... anyways that was the only little thing as they did give me a gold envelope with some choc coins in it for Chinese New Year... so brownie points there!

So overall, a good little work/holiday trip and great advice from the guys here. Will be back in July so will make sure I get more time in Changi, even overnight this time.

Thanks for sharing the experience SilverShadow.
It was nice about the card issue being resolved positively & sure that SQ will have the new impressive lounge open for your next flight. :D

Sorry to hear about the bug...I picked one up in Phils on my Jan12 trip. I had been there for over a week and got too confident regarding the water quality! I do travel with a set of gut drugs just to be sure.

As for the print out on the boarding passes, the SQ passes print a sentence something like "You are invited to use the Silver Kris Lounge" or "You are invited to use the Gold Lounge". Makes it very easy for all of the staff to know which lounge each person is entitled to. I'm not sure how this would/could work for VA Gold to be integrated into their system.

Happy travels, hope the bug has cleared.
