Hi, Am wondering if I can book domestic flights classic award plus flights using my points for a friend? She does not have many points herself but I have plenty. We would be travelling together. Also not sure if would be better to book under separate names ? Hope that makes sense. Thanks

Using your points to book for or transferring points to a non-family member is against the T&Cs of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and may result in your account being locked.

Unless you are in relationship (thus could be considered Domestic Partners), it is against the T&C, as you can only redeem tickets for or transfer points to "eligible family members". However as long as you are not doing this routinely and/or selling points/tickets through public forums, Qantas are probably not going to bother chasing you down to see if the friend is indeed your first cousin or not.

I'd really hope that as they are travelling together that Qantas has much more important things to bother about but hey, this is Qantas isn't it.

Thanks. Yes I thought about claiming to be a distant relation, but I would still be worried they would want proof etc. Would be just my luck to get caught. I have over 800,000 points squirrelled over many years and only just reached gold for the first (and probably only ) time, so would be worried I would lose all that.
