I am intending to take few flights commencing in April.
Melbourne-Antigua
Antigua-Mexico City
Mexico City-Vancouver
Fairbanks(Alaska)-Melbourne

My initial query is whether to use the Qantas help desk (2500 points) OR pay someone (perhaps in the one world award thread) A$175? to work it out for me??
Would be grateful for any thoughts, as I think it is too involved to do myself.
Of course that is assuming I can use QFF to go to any of these destinations? Or can I only use them eg Melb-LAX return (which obviously, I can arrange myself)?

Help please.........(experts)!

you won't be able to use QF itself for all flights, but might be able to rely on oneworld carriers, where you can also use your points. The thing I found with QF's website is that it does not show all possible oneworld partners, so you need to look around a bit (I think I read the British Airways site can be good to find out oneworld flights?).

Maybe start with google flights (flights.google.com), and filter the airlines using the "oneworld" alliance option. That should give you an idea of which flights are available that you could in theory book on points. Be aware that on some lanes maybe there aren't any OW airline flying.

Once you have an idea of availability and flights, then ring QF to actually book it.

Keep in mind that 140,000 points is a round the world trip in economy, 280,000 in business. But business class seats tend to go very quickly and it may be too late for April especially in and out of Australia on Qantas.

Having you considered using the Award Flight Assist service provided by AFF?

Actually that was part of my query. I was seeking opinions on either paying for Award Flight Assist OR use QFF points to ring and get Qantas to do it?? (Perhaps as AFA is part of this website it is the wrong place to ask??)
