Hi folks - interesting title? I am trying more and more to leverage the travel insurance associated with our ANZ Platinum Frequent Flyer card.
One thing that pops up as I travel to more and more out of the way places is how do I 'prove' I have insurance when entering a country? Travelling to Israel and Jordan recently and soon central america and other out of the way places I recently got asked to show my insurance policy (i.e. proof that I have Travel Insurance) before entering. It seems like a sensible question.
In the past I would show the policy from the carrier I bought with the geographical regions covered, the date range of the policy and the number.
But with Credit Card backed Travel Insurance - I don't see how I can do this easily? Do I need to carry around the coverage book and a credit card statement showing I used the card for the travel? (This was a rhetorical question I hope).
This question can be answered irrespective of the bank backing the credit card.
