Using KrisFlyer miles on Virgin Australia

You can book on the Singapore Airlines website.

On the flight results page, it will probably show that no flights are available but that's because it only shows SQ flights by default. To view available Virgin Australia flights, click on "show flights for other airlines" at the top of the page.

Do you know if you receive a Virgin full economy fare booking this way please ?
The Krisflyer site indicates that with Reward seats generically you get a n Economy Saver seat and could be waitlisted.. I am hoping that only applies to reward seats on Singapore Airline itself rather tan on domestic Virgin ..??

There are no waitlists when redeeming KrisFlyer miles for seats on partner airlines. You'll get a confirmed ticket.

Not sure what you mean by "full economy fare". It's an award ticket.

I like that you can use Krisflyer miles to book Virgin domestic flights. I booked HBA CNS later this year. A couple of downsides though. I cant link my Velocity account number to the booking so the booking doesn't appear in my account. Also I'm not getting updates when flight times change. Singapore Airlines still show the original booking times and the flight times have changed. The only way is to regularly check Virgin using the booking reference. I called Virgin to book paid seats.

I called Virgin and gave them the ticket numbers which are on the Krisflyer booking and they were able to give me the Virgin booking reference number which then let me add the booking into my Velocity app and assign my Velocity number.

Check if your contact details (email and phone) are already populated in the booking when you loaded it on the app just in case...

Just checked. The details werent in the app and I cant seem to update them, just stuck saying "we are processing your transaction". Same on the web site.

Yep same issue. I’ve had multiple chats with them regarding this. No fix yet for it.

Searching on the SQ website brings up no results (even the "other partners" option)

If there is availability showing on the VA or UA websites, you should be able to book by calling KrisFlyer.

Having trouble booking a VA flight using KF miles. NO availability online for any dates under the partner airline tab.
Called SQ and they see no availability either.
They are flights on Velocity.
Any ideas or tips?
