Using Hotel Cards & FF Card

Now just clarifying the use of BOTH a FF Card and a Hotel Membership when staying at a Hotel.

Which schemes can be used to claimtogether..ie double dip.

I understand that you can use HH & QFF...

However I am not likely to stay at any Hilton Hotels.

With Prioirity Club..can you use its card anda FF card at the same time. Or is one or the other?

I will be staying ata Pacific International Hotel in sept and my wife is off to the Holiday Inn in Brisbane tomorrow.

Can I double dip at these?

And if not here,,,where?

Hilton is the only one I know of that you can double dip.

With Priority Club, you can accumulate points in their scheme towards free accommodation or direct the poits towards your QFF account. I'm not sure to what other FF programs you can direct PC points.

Yes but it is either or, can't credit both priority club and your FFP on the same stay.

And remember that with Hilton you have some choices. You can select to only earn FF points/miles, you can select to only earn HH points, or you can select to earn a combination of both (double dip). These options are selected through the HHonors program and not by providing one or other card to the hotel. Once your FF program membership has been entered in your HHonors profile, you don't show your FF card to the hotel at check-in, just your HH card. The split of points is then managed by HHonors and not by the hotel.

I choose to earn the extra HH points rather than FF points/miles from my Hilton stays. I get enough FF points/miles from flying and credit cards so choose to use my HH points for family vacations and I feel I get better value by taking the extra HH points option.

The other way to do it is credit the stay to a hotel program then transfer them at a later date to your QFF account.

One program where it pays to bank hotel points and then transfer them to your QFF account is the Starwood Preferred Guest program. Last time I did this, if you transferred 20,000 SPG points, you get credited with 25,000 QFF points. Pretty sure this is still the case however have a look at Starwood Preferred Guest - Starwood Hotels & Resorts loyalty program at spg.com to confirm.

Actually, you are correct. The only way to earn airline FF points/miles only is to not go through HHonors and just present your FF membership at check-in.

When using HHonors to manage the points, you have a choice to ways in which FF points/miles are earned, being based on US$ spent at the hotel or based on fixed points per stay.
