Hi everyone

I had a Brisbane-Kalgoorlie return flight booked for June 2010 but unfortunately had to cancel the flights.

I thought that I could use the voucher to book a return BNE-SYD flight plus a one way BNE-SYD, but I misread the rules of cancelling and obtaining a credit voucher. I didn't realise "Can only be used towards a fare of equal or higher value" meant that I had to pay the super expensive prices listed when you go to rebook through Manage My Booking. Currently one way flights are $75 but through the system they want to charge $582 for business class only.

My question - if I use my $600 voucher to book a Business Class flight (currently $582) and then cancel that Business Class ticket, will I get a refund on the full $582, or will their system be able to detect that I used a credit voucher from flights previously booked in their Red e-Deal sale.

Many thanks

lotsoftrips,

Welcome to AFF.

I think you would be extremely lucky to be able to do what you have suggested as the system seems to keep pretty good track of how, when and where.

You most definitely wouldn't get the refund, QF (and the other airlines) are too clever for that, and the rules state that if a non-refundable fare is used as credit towards a refundable fare which is then cancelled the old rules apply.
