Hi all
I'm 385 credits short of retaining plat with my membership year ending on 31 Oct.
I got a voicemail from qantas FF saying that they were offering the chance to retain plat with points and to call them back if I'd be interested.
I'm currently in the U.K. and it's a bit pricy to call and potentially be on hold for a while waiting.
Does anyone know how many points they'd be looking at and I'll suss out whether it's worthwhile?
Thanks!

Thanks Hvr- I've had a read.
It looks like 120k points, which I won't do. I'll give them a quick call when they open later and see if it's any less.
Cheers!

Thanks for that suggestion!
I called - they wanted 120k points, with me being 385 credits short.
Doesn't seem great to be, so I guess I'll be leaving plat after 7 years. Oh well, time to change airlines!

Have you got LTG and if not are you anywhere close to that?

If you haven't got it yet and are getting close I would stick with QF for a while longer and secure that assuming you can get your four qualifying sectors on QF to level back up to Platinum.

Also remember that you need activity on QF every 18 months to avoid points expiry. So bear that in mind if you're planning to use up all your QF points with a switch to a different airline.

And so I am now Gold after 7 or 8 years.
The annoying this is it took a few days for my status to change down on the app!!
Thanks everyone for the help- as someone said on the other thread, all good things must end.
I'm not LTG- I've not been LTS for very long, so still a bit off.
I'll suss out what my next project is going to be and who is best to fly with- I won't be trying to fly Qantas as I previously did. It was a lot of fun while it lasted though!

So, in a little twist of fait...
I flew out on an EK booking prior to my year expiring. I'm presently on my return leg post downgrade to Gold, but my booking with EK still shows platinum.
Writing this from the EK first lounge at DXB for, potentially, the last time- will make the most of it!!
