Got some USD I want to convert to CAD for an upcoming trip. Is there anywhere in Australia I can make a direct exchange? And not convert to AUD first and then to CAD?

Just convert them when you get to Canada? If you need CAD upon landing, just grab a hundred or two out of an ATM (see other threads for the most cost effective way of doing this) but it's typically cheaper to pull money from an ATM than pay forex charges at a bureau de change.

At a Travelex booth, airside. Exchange rate will be rubbish, so you would be better of doing the 2 way

If you absolutely want some CAD in your pocket when you arrive, just exchange A$50 to C$ here at your retail bank (they may waive commission) and then change the US$ in Canada.

But you don't need it when you touch down. Changing it at the airport you land at will get a better net result than any deal here.
