Hi all would appreciate some help here. I'm currently a drama student and wanting move over to USA after my course. Hence wanting to obtain the following visas J1, O1 or O2. If anyone can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated. I do have technical audio & lighting knowledge for stage & live shows which would help I believe to obtain O1 or O2 USA visas.

J-1 is the correct one if you have a US university or institution who will hire you as a temporary employee or you're doing a course there.
O-1 is the correct one if you have performed in a movie or hit the Oz charts "has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements"
O-2 if you have been critical in helping someone to achieve this and his moving to the USA as well.

Note that all these three are non-immigrant visa!

tbh, at this point none seems to apply to you, I would look into H1B (does the drama course lead to a Bachelor degree?)

I'm a professional live audio engineer & in the past have toured overseas with a recognised group worldwide. Hence why maybe an O1 visa. J1 cause I'm about to finish a cert III I'm drama.
