So my flight to the USA in March is booked, destination Canyon Country in Utah, Arizona and Nevada in March 2020. I tried to rustle up a companion amongst my peers but no luck, so I am going solo. Main purpose is reset my headspace after the loss of our daughter by way of getting back into my love of photography. Mrs Irv is not coming as we are our grandsons carers and she had her break in September/October this year. Amongst others, Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon Arches Canyon, Monument Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Lax. Will ensure I post photos in due course.

Only been to the Grand Canyon,so looking forward to the others. I hope they are just as spectacular .

That promises to be a spectacular trip. I've visited all of those place previously. Some multiple times.

Most unexpectedly beautiful was Arches Canyon. Make sure you leave enough time here. And time your visit - earlier the better in the day. I've seen cars lined up for kilometers after 9am.

Oh and easily the best Thai meal I've ever had outside of Thailand was had in Moab at Arches Thai:

Are you flying into SLC and driving to Moab ? Just be carefull with snowfall on the drive. You should be fine in March but roughly half way I had snow on the road near Price in November.

Very good tip. I think snow is still a very real prospect in March.

Irv , I hope this trip helps you and rekindles some joy back in your life.

All the best for what should be a magical trip.
but we went in late April one year and a severe snow storm meant we had to stay 2 nights in Page as we couldn't drive out in any direction.

I am actually flying into LAX 10 March, the agenda after that is as follows;
Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Moab, Page, Grand Canyon, Vegas then return to LA. A total of 21 days sightseeing and photography, have hired an SUV and yes I am conscious there may still may be snow around.

I am envious. Promises to be a memorable trip. Having travelled extensively in the US, you do have to factor in weather impacts and have some flexibility. But I'm sure that you would already have thought about this.

Sounds like the trip we we want to do but waiting for the Orange Overlord to be gone first. I hope it brings you the peace and happiness you need.

Will you be attempting to score a lottery ticket to hike to the Wave (20 people allowed per day, lottery months in advance)

I have missed the date for the lottery, however will be trying to obtain a walk up ticket, I know there is only 10 per day issued. Fingers crossed.

Don't worry about the snow it just adds an extra dimension to the beauty.In the trip I mentioned up thread we arrived at thregrand canyon and thought it was beautiful.it snowed overnight and the views transformed to absolutely magic.
