Hi,processing time for obtaining a waiver is approx 4-8 wks by post, could someone please tell me if l could wait alot longer, plans to fly out in sept,my appointmnt at the consulate was on the 19/06/09.
Thankyou,l hope lm in the right place first time here.

Gee, I don't know about that 4 - 8 weeks by post. I recently applied for the US Visa Waiver on line, and it was granted almost instantaneously. Easy application process, too.

Sorry Richard didnt mention police record approx 22 yrs ago.Waiting to approve waiver .
Thanks

 Hope you haven't been 'sucked in' - there are several sights that charge you for a guide to the waiver & also are not legitimate. As stated by Richard, you should be able to get response online almost immediately. I did just that last night! Good Luck!!

Im a little confused. There is nothing to apply for when requesting a visa; do you mean that you attended the US Consulate for an interview after applying for a ( I guess ) B1/B2 visa?

The best you could do to find out would be to contact the consulate or website to determine how long processing is likely to take

jaf111,

Are you looking for a Waiver OR a Visa? Your post indicates a bit both ways.
If you are after a Waiver then apply online. IF you require a Visa, as your second post indicates then the following from the US Department of State Web Site is what you are probably after. As you have already completed the interview it is probably you who has the best indicator of how long they said it would take.
****IMPORTANT NOTE: Processing wait time DOES NOT include the time required for administrative processing. These procedures require additional time. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of application. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Therefore, before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants or their representatives will need to wait at least 90 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later. Processing wait time also does not include the time required to return the passport to applicants, by either courier services or the local mail system.

Sorry about the confusion Guys ,l attended US consulate for a B1/B2 visa 5 wks ago and still waiting for my Passport.
Thanks
