Hi - did some flights in the US on AA in late September that had my QF number on them - applied online in late October to claim missing points and got a response in my activity statement the next day to say - claimed on another FF scheme.

I emailed Qantas on the 28th October with copies of my boarding passes - any idea how long I should expect for them to either credit them or say no?

My expiry is the end of January and I'm pretty sure that will keep me gold but I'd like to be sure - I could ring them but not looking forward to 30 minutes on the phone

TIA

This has happened to me several times, usually points within 2 weeks of making the manual claim.

by "expiry is at the end of January" I presume you mean your membership anniversary?

If so it doesn't matter. Even if QF didn't credit till March, it would apply for this membership year so the SC's would still count to this year's membership level.

Yes thanks - I do mean membership expiry at the end of January - but I find calcuating the status points for QF on AA flights really complicated and want to be sure I get the 100 SC I need before the end of January

I might not have an answer to your original question. I find this page is quite good for calculating SC earn:

https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/initialPointsEarned

You just need to make sure you select the correct operating carrier and fare type.

Calculating SC for AA flights is really easy with the calculator, so long as you select the right Marketing carrier for the flight (eg don't put QF for AA flight).

I did an email claim for flight credits (stuff up with FF numbers on the flights) and hadn't heard back in 2 weeks. Rang up and got a lovely lady on the line (must say, I generally find the QFF line to be one of the friendliest), she pushed it through and a week later I had it. Strongly suggest ringing.

Thanks for the feedback - I flew Philadelphia to Savannah and although they were purchased through AA the boarding passes were US Airways and when I do the search in the link that TomVexville sent it won't let me choose from PHL to SAV - I think I'm OK because I flew SAV CLT and CLT LAS in first so think that will cover the 100 SC I need but it just would be nice to see them in my account

Redroo is normally good for helping to chase up if you hit a call centre / email brick wall :)

Just an update - I rang today after nearly a month waiting - was told that they normally try to respond to gold enquiries in 3 days - took 30 minutes on the phone before I could actually get it sorted and get my SC and points - was not that concerned about points but got more than enough to retain gold for another year (YAY to all the help from this forum)
