Travellers to the United States will no longer need a pre-departure COVID-19 test within one calendar day before departure with the US government scrapping this requirements as of midnight on 12 June 2022.

Fantastic! I’m travelling there at the start of august so very happy to hear this!

Fabulous, that’ll save us some hassle and $$.

Woohoo! So happy this means zero testing now for my upcoming OWA, more $ for a new handbag or clothes and more time with friends instead of finding a testing centre.

Definitely makes life easier for my Boxing Day flight to the US!

Same deal, heard the good news on the radio early this morning.
To be reviewed in 3 months. We are flying late August, happy we don't have to pretest now.
Wait and see if we still have to complete Passenger Attestation.

When I flew to the US a few weeks ago, I completed the attestation form but nobody asked to see it at any stage of the journey.

From the CDC website that is gone too.

Hopefully it will happen to Australia sooner or later

Edit: was thinking about the mask mandate on flights… thx to @Muppet501st

Per @ksthommo's link, it looks like the attestation form has been amended rather than removed. It used to have a part about attesting that you tested negative on a COVID test, as well as a part about attesting that you have been vaccinated (or have a reason to be exempt). The new form via Qantas only has the latter part now.

Hopefully someone who has flown to the US since the COVID test requirement was abolished, can confirm the on-the-ground experience!

I departed BNE to LAX this morning. Attestation Forms (the new ones withOUT the negative testing part, but still with the vaccination part) were being inspected at check-in, with the forms physically collected at the boarding gate.
