US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

Just booked our first USDM award flight to Europe in September for two. Nothing fancy. All in business. All miles bought with 100% offers. Total 120,000 points each.

SYD-BKK TG472 (744)
BKK-BRU TG934 (773)
BRU-BHX SN2045 (ARJ100)

CDG-BKK TG931 (388)
BKK-SYD TG471 (744)

Total cost each USD:

Miles: $2257.50
Taxes: $253.81
Booking Fee: $50.00

Total: $2561.31

Having just sorted out all our seats, just wanted to check aircraft type for the seating for the BKK-BRU TG934 (773) leg. Seats are 9A & 10A in a 1-2-1 config (according to the operator). I asked the operator if this was on the 777-300ER aircraft and she replied 'No, it's the 777-300'.

I went and checked the seat layouts on the Thai website and on the 777-300 aircraft all J rows start from row 11 and are in a 2-2-2 config, but 777-300ER J starts from row 8 in a 1-2-1 config. Am I right in assuming that we are on the 777-300ER?

Cheers,
Aaron

It is Thai's own new 777 that is why it shows differently. They don't actually have the seat map for it up on their website yet.

Anybody had any bookings through to Sapporo (CTS) in Japan.

When you look at award traveller or the ANA (partners) search engine there is no real availability.

When you look at the ANA (INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS AWARDS ) Search engine it comes up with a lot of availability from just about everywhere.

When booking an award are the ANA INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS AWARDS also available to be booked using USDM??

Correct...normally the changes trickle through like this...F no longer on sale, later seat map changes.

From 14 Apr there is no more F to BRU hence you can assume it's not the ex jet 777-300ER.

EF seatmap still shows ex Jet 77W but word is certainly that it is changing to TG's 2 class 777-300ER.

Will that mean those on 77W F bookings to BRU will be rerouted / downgraded?

Yes, one or the other subject to what you can agree / find with US.

It's happened before...F was removed from MXP (back again now) and I think some here had to rebook. F was removed from MAD etc etc.

Have just made my first UDSM redemption and wanted to say thanks to everyone that has shared information about how to do this on this site.

SYD-BKK TG F
BKK-CDG TG F
CDG-FRA LH J (Stopover)
FRA-EWR UA F (Destination)
EWR-ORD UA F
ORD-ICN OZ F
ICN-BKK OZ J (21 hour stop)
BKK-SYD TG F

140,000 miles and $353USD(taxes and booking fee)

Well done.
And 140k. Makes my Oz-Europe for 160k trip seem weird. Looks like everyone is paying 140k-150k for Oz-Europe return in F.....except me....

160k is weird as South Pacific to Europe in F is 150k!

Still a "bargain" at 160k but still...

And tough if they won't "move mountains" to get you a compatible or equivalent option, or make you do the leg work all over again. For example, I suppose they can't and won't rebook you via FRA on LH or other availability that you could not normally access (e.g. because of *A blocking or the award availability just isn't there). That could be tough for those who aren't date flexible.

The only thing I can envision is that if you are rebooked or rerouted, they may be more willing to bend some of the rules, e.g. stopover rule, backtracking or number of sectors etc.

I think people are being quoted 140k when they fly F through Europe but then continue on to the US as that is then considered the destination and F SWP-USA is 140k miles... If they are just doing F SWP-EUR return they would get the 150k requirement, can't imagine why you would have been quoted 160k, did it involve a destination in Africa???

Thanks BC - which routes are they usually on?

Ha...this is TG you're talking about! :D

After BRU I don't think the 3 class 77Ws will be doing any long haul routes? I think it does some Japan routes. Oh edit - it also currently does 1 daily FRA...haven't seen any plans for that to change.

The 2 class is I think supposed to start on BRU, CPH, ARN, LAX and some Asia.

Some info here: http://airlineroute.net/2013/01/21/tg-s13update4/ (...this has been updated. Now looks like ex Jet 77W might operate BRU til September but with no F sold???)

CPH & ARN are just bizarre because TG are continuing with their model of selling Scandinavia on a Business, Prem Eco and Eco basis. Premium Economy passengers will find themselves sitting in TG's flagship flat beds for PE prices. All they'll really be missing is lounge access. Why pay for business!?

still angled bed. That's about right for a premium economy offering these days! :)

Popped my cherry.

SYD-BKK (TG F 747)
BKK-FRA (TG F 747)
FRA-BUD - Destination, 10 days (LH J)

BUD-FRA (LH J)
FRA-BKK - Stop - 3 days (TG F 77W)
BKK-SYD (TG F 747)

150k points and $215 taxes/fees.
All points were purchased during 100% promos only

I apologize. It was 150k. For some reason I had 160k in my head.

All good. I've got 202k miles now. I'm primed for the next flight.

There's no angled bed on the 2 class 77W.

I'm confused. You said they were selling ARN and CHP and PE get to sit in a flagship flat bed? I thought you meant it was a three class aircraft. Are they using the exJet 77W? I thought those routes were a 747 - hence saying PE were in an angled bed. Otherwise i'm not sure how they even sell PE if its only two class.

They are converting CPH & ARN to 2 class 77W. But they are continuing to sell J, PY and Y. J and PY passengers will be sitting in the same seats...full lie flats! Info in the airlineroute link above plus there is a thread about it on FT.
