US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

nice straight forward itinerary.

I find calling for seat selection saves TG staff time. If your seat is not available they can discuss it there and then rather than playing email ping pong. You should also use the call to ask them if they have ticket numbers against the booking.

Agree with this. Seat allocation at TG is most easily and efficiently done over the phone.

$190.95 in taxes, $50 booking fee. Easy, booked. I actually quite like the look of the leased Jet Airways 773 with it's mini suites, doors and all. Be interesting to see whether they think that one is better than the new A380 F or not!

I obviously can't compare the 773 F product to the A380 F product, but 773 F is nice. Very comfortable and private - perfect for those BKK-Europe overnight legs where you want to get some sleep. And a definite step up from TG 747 F.

I do all my seat selection through email to the Melbourne office, I always ccheck the aavailable seats first online through the TG website so have never had a problem or need for email tag.

Well, we have done it! Booked for June 2013:

LHR-BKK (O with TG), then BKK-SYD (O with TG) - stop
SYD-ICN (I with OZ) - stop
ICN-BKK (I with TG) - then BKK-FRA (O with TG) - then FRA-LGW (I with LH)
100K DM plus US$432pp [I guess taxes were high because we fly in and out of London]

However, I could NOT have done these without the help of 2 AFF forum members! One is "cove" for planting the idea and mentioning it to me a number of times (not just once - he was very persistent). My hardest task was to convince the sceptical hubby to even buy the DM in the first place. It took me 3 months to sell the idea to him. The other was "Flashware" for helping me with the detailed technical know-hows. So, to cove and Flashware and others who have posted, Thank You!

Nice result Myrna ..... 100K too ;)

Not as good as my friend's 45k F return but I'd take the 100k award (over the usual 150k) ;)

100k! Where did they think you were going! I got lucky as well, only 120k even though 2 legs in F, they must have some new agents on board!

Made my first booking over weekend. 3 J tickets (2+1) to Europe next August.
Mrs BOZZ & Junior on SYD-BKK-ZRH(TG)-BEG(LX) and back
myself on SYD-PEK(CA)-VIE-MUC(OS)-BEG(LH) and BEG-IST-BKK(TK)-SYD(TG)
Bookings all apeared in accounts next day, called CA to confirm, and could see others on websites.
Does anyone know if TK has online seat selection?

Thanks, Alanslegal. I thought it would be 150k as well - so I waited until I had enough miles. But when told 100k I was very happy!

Not sure either. But, I did not argue with 100k - I thought we were booked in Y, but the seat allocations showed F and J.

Have people had success in booking SQ J 777-300 refurb (non-ER)?

I know the product is the regional J and not as good as the A380 but I believe you are allowed to book it, I'm just wondering if people actually have in practice.

Booked it on the PER-SIN route easily enough.

Would you recommend compared to the TG 777? I assume both seats are similar, the food on both similar but the service on SQ slightly better?

What's the leg you're looking for? I've not done the TG 777, so that depends... if you're talking the TG 777 CDG-BKK for example, then it's a different ballgame ;)

Service wise, I can only say that on SQ at least you're guaranteed to have someone who can speak very, very good English. Not saying that the TG staff are the opposite, but they know enough to do their jobs well enough. Just don't start making too much light banter, or talk too fast.

Other than that, I'd say much of muchness if it's just a short positioning sector.

Coming home I'll either be doing SIN-MEL on the SQ 777-300 non ER or BKK-MEL on the TG 777 or whatever they run to MEL. Both are likely to be overnight flights so sleeping will be important (I know both seats aren't brilliant).

Im expecting them to be fairly similar - what would you choose?

the seats are not really similar at all. The SQ regionals are much wider than TGs, and it is possible on SQ to surl up on your side and sleep on a completely flat surface (being the seat pan).

Having flown both TG and SQ on their regionals I would opt for SQ.

The A330 regional seat for SQ is different again and is full flat angled (whereas their 777s the legrest drops away)

Another one booked. Bought miles under the 100% bonus then rolled in the additional 10,000 under the 100% bonus transfer deal.

MEL-BKK-VIE//VIE-YYZ//YYZ-PVG-MEL

110,000 + USD241 in taxes.

BKK-VIE-YYZ are all on OS which should have thier new fancy flat beds by then. The long jump from YYZ - PVG is Air Canada flat beds as well.

About 30 min for the route then 30 min for the booking and loading taxes. EU and North America for less then USD2400 all in business. Pretty good deal really.

Long time lurker, first time poster, here ;)

Just booked 3 seats in J, all on LX:
BKK - ZRH
ZRH - TLV (dest)
TLV - ZRH (stop)
ZRH - BKK

Booked as S. Asia -> Middle East rather than S. Asia -> Europe (75k vs 90k), and taxes were $118.77 each.

The destination stay is 11 days and the stopover is 2 months, so I'm pretty chuffed :D

Well, the abovementioned trip went very well, so we've upped the game and will be trying TG in First for the Monaco GP next year. We're justifying F over C, as we're only taking a week off work and must be well rested upon our return. Right?! :D

4 seats (using the tried & tested 'book two, then two more will magically appear' method).

SYD-BKK-MXP//CDG-BKK-SYD

Most connections all the way through to NCE worked out to a ~40+hr journey and had us arriving late at night. Driving ourselves from MXP, although adding to the cost, should keep us under the 30hr mark from SYD, and have us arriving during the day. It's only a 3.5hr drive, and we do love an AutoGrill! ;) One of us will just have to stop chugging the Dom a few hours before we land.

Bought a cheapie AF seat for NCE - CDG, and will spend a couple of days wandering aimlessly in Paris before we head home.

Looking forward to the A380 on the CDG - BKK leg, though knowing TG the aircraft will change five times before our departure date!

150k plus 187 euro in taxes each. I booked from Austria, and the call centre staff seemed quite on the ball compared to their US based colleagues.
