theoretically, out of MEL - nothing
out of Sydney - QF to LHR and BA to LHR, both are first class all the way
other European destinations out of both MEL and SYD will be:
MH to Paris (first class on KUL-CDG_
CX to Paris, Milan and Frankfurt (also, first only out of HKG)
JL to Paris, Frankfurt (also, only out of Tokyo)
QR to Paris (out of Doha)
just the very first ones that come to my mind, there will probably be some more

ex-MEL is only QF9 to DXB, then connect to DOH and go from there on QR (same for SYD).
ex-SYD there is also BA SYD-SIN, and if you can find something on QF127 to HKG in the next few months before F gets canned, then that as well.. connect from HKG on CX.
As for which European destination - it depends if F is available, but out of Australia those are your F routes.

remember you don;t have to pay the UK APD if you in LHR for less than 24 hours
whereabouts in Europe do you actually need to go?

Into CDG pref - very flexible out - just not LHR either way. Planning for mid to late Jun 2015 - out mid Jul.

I think Air China (still a partner, not OneWorld though) also has first class to Paris out of Beijing, not sure about Shanghai to Paris

got an interesting scenario i'd like to run past the gurus, not travelling til september so waiting to see if things iron themselves out before getting on the front foot.

i have AUS-EUR-USA-ICN-SYD with the stops in EUR and USA, but my connection in ICN has now become > 24 hours (for some reason been bumped off the connecting flight to the same flight the next day).

should i have any concerns about this invalidating my ticket etc?

using my ticket number on saudi shows the original ICN-SYD flight, whereas Thai/ USAirways/ checkmytrip using PNR is showing the 'updated'/ delayed ICN-SYD flight.

the mrs is on a separate PNR with same issue.

edit: actually, worse than that, the mrs PNR doesn't even exist according to checkmytrip and Thai, even though the ticket # works when bringing up the itinerary on saudi and the PNR on usairways... eek!

TIA

the involuntary stopover will be just fine, USDM isn't going to say anything.

airlineroute.net shows there has been a reduction of Asiana frequency between ICN-SYD for the northern summer. this was announced in march.

i would recommend everyone with award bookings to review airlineroute weekly to see if their flights are affected. doing so as early as possible will give you first crack at any award seats on alternative services.

Could someone let me know which is the best site to see availability for Hawaiian Airlines and South African Airlines. Thanks

A quick question. I have a MEL - SIN - MLE - SIN - MEL trip ticketed in J. At the time of the original booking, the MLE-SIN leg only had Y seats available. I just rang and they found 2 J seats now available, but they charged me a change fee per seat. Is that correct, given that I had already paid the 90k miles and fees originally?

Yes it's the norm now and has been for some time.

Hi everyone,
Some advice/tips if i could.

I am hoping to have my folks over from Europe next jan/feb time frame. I currently have 275K miles.
I have checked AAdvantage and can see some F flights Dub - Mel in F but none on the return leg.
Can i do a mixed Oneworld (AA) and other airline mix in F. Would it still be 125K return each in F?

any help would be great, i just really want to spoil my folks and try to get them in F as they are both nearly 70, theyv never flown anywhere but in Y.

you can't mix OneWorkd and other partners award flights in one booking. It's either / or.
F return Europe/Australia is 150K, not 125K

Ah ok, thanks for the mail, I have another account with 75K miles that i can easily transfer into so getting the 300 wont be an issue
Is the best miles program united to check other availability?

I had wondered if I could have gotten 1 way for example OneWorld and return with Thai/Sing etc
