I'm looking to do a US trip in Jan 2019 with the family, and looking to use VA points where I can.

I know US award availability is pretty scarce, so I'm doing my homework now to make sure that I can book as soon as they are released.

I always thought the seats were released at T-330, but I did a search today and nothing shows up until 319 days before. Funnily enough, if I go check the Delta site, they too seem to not have 55K point bookings until 319 days.

Also, while I can find something like BNE-LAX at T-319 days, things like BNE-MCO or BNE-MIA are supposedly unavailable. I really can't see how this is the case when a direct BNE-LAX flight is there, why is it that these don't show up as bookable on the VA site?

It is t-330 to book any fare - that's a hard rule for SABRE.

Until a couple of years ago AAwards would often show at t-330 - these days it seems it up to two weeks after that before award seats may become avalaible - 319 is within that.
