I couldn't see anything here so thought I'd ask.

Based on what I've read via the T&Cs and using Gemini, as an Australian Citizen (not residing in the US) with a USA Credit Card - I am intelligible to claim travel insurance. Even though my wife is a US Citizen as a secondary card holder. Because we don't reside in the US is the key issue I believe that will block any claims submitted.

Do others agree?

Therefore, if I use my US Amex as my main credit card, I should not rely on this for the travel insurance component at all. I realise credit card insurances aren't great, but I'm just doing some due diligence to cover my bases.

I've never relied on it, especially because most US cards don't cover medical. And I wouldn't risk it with something like car rental insurance where the cost of not being covered could be very extensive.

Looking at the lengths people go to in getting these US Amex cards, which must go close to (if not totally does) cross legal definitions of fraud, I would be shocked if it was relied on for insurance purposes. How does that conversation with the insurer go: "wait, why do you need your lost baggage replaced to an address in Melbourne? Don't you live at a PO box in Nevada?"........

Ha! Yes fair call. I'm calling them to just 100% confirm the rules on Monday but was curious if anyone here has already gone through the process.

I'll report back for anyone curious but agree, we're highly unlikely going to be covered from what I've read.
