Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Cracked the spend early in the second statement period but no bonus points to be seen. Another month of waiting methinks.

Hi guys
I just recently applied (last Friday) and got approved today however when Westpac send me the email of I’m approved it didn’t mention first year fee waived . What should I do or does anything have experienced dealing with this problem before ?

Thanks

Wait until you actually have a problem before worrying about how to deal with it.

I'd wait as this is common. But given you kept a copy of the original ad and your application based on a specific URL link, you'll be fine if a fee is charged at some stage in the future.

Looking at the current promo on Westpac, it appears that there are zero fees of any kind on either card for the first year i.e. literally nothing to lose. Can anyone confirm that?
Well that was what the offer was when it originally commenced. So seems to still be the same offer, although a new deadline (Offer ends 27 November 2018).

Thank you; haven't had many cards before and just trying to confirm I won't be stung with a fee of some kind in the first year.

Well my wife has zero fees.

I personally was not eligible for this deal as I had a black Westpac. BUT have in the last two months gained two Wesptac issued FREE Amex's each with bonus points (20K per time). Happpy with this as in preparation for shop Small Small and the Amex promos that tend to be more common in the pre-Chritsmas period I have now stocked up with more Amexes and supp Amexes ;) I also gained one free Plat VISA. So between us 240K for free and 3 Amexes (plus Supps) to leverage in Amex shop Small Promos.

Westpac will make us $thousands for free in addition to the 240K QFF points.

I'm thinking of applying for this offer but it's a fair bit of dosh to get all 120k points, and not sure I would get approved anyway. Do payments to our friends in the territory count toward minimum spend for either cards bonus points? Feel free to PM.

I see from reading the thread that holding a current AMEX-issued AMEX is not a barrier to the 40,000 points which is good to hear.

Met the spend criteria during the 2nd statement

I wouldn't be wasting a phone call personally, as I know what they'll say already given it's only been at max 8 weeks since you hit the spend criteria.

Such spend should be eligible spend for the Amex card, but it wouldn’t be for the Mastercard
