Uptick in Qantas food service?

Just back from a TSV-SYD-MEL, MEL-BNE-TSV trip. The food and beverage service was the best I have seen on Economy on these routes in years. Has there been an improvement in the menu and service, or is this just the difference between Qantas metal flights and Alliance flights that I usually end up on?

Very nice vegetarian quiches, chicken dumplings, and Lindor balls. More than one pass through to collect rubbish or offer extras. It was nice!

Those chicken dumplings are very good!

Yes we had the dumplings, soy sauce and a couple of beers MEL-MCY a couple of weeks ago. Cant complain.
