Hey All,

I was wondering if there was a thread, or information regarding the best value flight routes when upgrading from Y to J using points.

Ie. DXB to LHR (from Y to J) = 24,000 Points.

This is a route have a upgraded to before and presents great value imo.

What other routes provide such great value for your hard earned points?

Look forward to hearing from you all :D

I'm sure it's discussed across a lot of threads - and as usual, as most people value points differently, so it's a moving target!

Personally I enjoy upgrading East Coast > Perth flights and usually enjoy good return on the points invested on these at 20k from Discount Y to J.

But some might not think it's worth it for a 5 hour flight.

YMMV!

I reckon 70,000 points to upgrade Y-J on the LAX-MEL run is great value. How can you place a value on sleep vs no sleep????

I usually compare the cost of the upgrade (in points) with the fare difference between economy and business class. If you're getting at least 5 cents per point in value, then the upgrade is probably worth it.

FWIW 24,000 points from Y to J on DXB-LHR is a steal! This is a unique route as it just falls short of being in a more expensive category.
