Hi VFF,

Just returned from US on VA08. I used 45K miles to upgrade my paid PE ticket to J.

What gives? Shouldn't I get the SC for a PE ticket?

You should but the velocity system has been pretty bad for the last 1-2 months with allocating points correctly.

Send the platinum desk an email and ask them to fix it - oh and mention that you want them to actually fix it and not just advise you to submit a retro claim.

The relevant T+C for reference is:

19.1.4 Members will earn Status Credits and Points based on the original fare class booked for flights where an Upgrade Using Points has been redeemed.

Yeah, I called Velocity today, agent told me yes he can see my ticket but doesn't know what happened and why I didn't get SCs. Told me to leave it with him and he'd fix it. I wonder what is a reasonable amount of time before calling back.
