Upgrade on Domestic Sector of International Trip with SQ

Soon to embark on an international trip with SQ, but first have a short domestic flight that I wanted to upgrade to J with points.

Despite booking the flights though VA(on single PNR) call center was unable to upgrade my domestic leg due to the partner flights being on the same booking.

Today I got an email offering the upgrade me option on the domestic leg. So find it a bit odd this is offered but no points upgrades available.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi dcauson, sorry to hear about that. You should be able to upgrade an eligible VA flight sector even if it forms part of an itinerary that includes flights operated by partner airlines, so long as all relevant criteria are met. Can you please PM me with your Velocity number and PNR so that the team can look into this further for you?
