Upgrade notification.

Hi all,

The last time I received an upgrade SMS, it was for J to F MEL-LAX. It came through about 6 hours before departure, which I thought was really strange. EF was showing 9 available F seats, several days in advance. What is the usual time that all you WP's have received upgrade SMS's. I know it says from 48 hours, but how reliable is it?

As a standard Gold I got my F upgrade SYD-LHR more than 48 hours in advance - no idea why but I wasn't complaining!

IME not reliable at all, anything from 48 hrs to T-6 to several with no SMS received at all despite the upgrade request being successful.
I use a combination of the texts, EF alerts and feverishly tapping on my QFF profile on the iPhone APP willing it to show a points deduction
