If you read the conditions you are eligible for U/G if you purchase JASA. When you do buy it does say you are not eligable by mere fact of requesting one!!!

Does anyone know the position that QF will take?

Cheers

SPRUCE :confused::confused::confused:

I don't quite understand what you mean.

The way I see things: you upgrade a J ASA in the same way as a normal J ticket, i.e. put in a request and if your upgrade is approved in the T-24 window, points are deducted and you'll get your F service. If upgrade request not approved, no further points deducted.

The information page on QF about using points for upgrades says that ASAs are eligible for upgrades, so no disputes there.

The request should be able to be completed online, otherwise just call QF and get them to put in the request for you.

This problem was also mentioned elsewhere; ISTR the agent having an issue as well.

Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

The T&C's have changed, but obviously not the software.
16.1.3 Flight Upgrades are not available when travelling on Restricted Fares (except for those Segments with a Qantas (QF) flight number booked in Z or U class entered on the itinerary as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award), Codeshare Flights or Qantas & Partner Classic Awards. Otherwise, Flight Upgrades may be requested only on paid travel or Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards on a confirmed and ticketed Qantas domestic or international flight booking on a service operated by Qantas, with a Qantas (QF) flight number, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
hmmm ... where's X class?

The implementation of ASAs being eligible for the same conditions as normal fares has resulted in the odd teething problem, including online changes and upgrad-ability issues, no doubt a few at QF would be feeling it was a good idea at the time but they underestimated the implications. I bet the take up has skyrocketed, it certainly seems to be the current preferred choice for do travel - a la OzFest next year.

Of course! Have you looked at the cost of revenue Business Class on QF flights to/from DRW.:shock:

Forget J class fares, my last DRW-BNE in Y would have cost $900 OW had I not booked it the day before as a ASA, which was then op-up'd :lol:. I am planning Ozfest travel to be ex TSV at this stage, hate to see good SCs go to waste during requal.
