Upgrade experience on the SYD - DFW route

Hi everyone

I'm wondering what people's experience is in requesting upgrades from Y to J on the route from SYD - DFW? Just interested in a general picture of success/ failure. I know there's no way to tell.

I've booked saver fares with QF in Y going PER - SYD - DFW - MCO on 8th September and returning on 27 September. I'm QF Gold status. Put in for hubby and myself to get upgraded from Y to J - haven't bothered with Y+ because I don't think it's worth the points.

Anyone put in for upgrades on any of the following flights before? Let me know about success/ failure, dates, status, and number in your group.

PER - SYD QF 574
SYD - DFW QF7
DFW - MCO AA2288 (no upgrade requested, just here for reference)

About two months ago I had success in an upgrade from Y to J on the DFW to SYD sector. Was PS at the time. Upgrade request was submitted about 3 weeks prior to departure.

Agree with you that I don't see the value in a Y+ upgrade.
