Hi All,
I am flying Broome-Sydney (via Melb) on 7Jan. I have been able to secure an upgrade from Melb Syd (on QF464) but i can not get one Broome-Melb (QF1051). I am travling alone, and i am only a Bronze FF. Anyone like to rate my chances trying to upgrade each day till 7Jan? Would it help if i got a Plat friend to try the upgrades for me?

Thanks if anyone has any info.

If the information I have is accurate then I do not like your chances. There are only 2 business class seats available. Keep trying you have nothing to lose.

John K, it *seems* Qantas is willing to sell 2 full J fares and 1 discounted J fare (J/D). If my information serves me correctly, the numbers do not reflect the number of seats available, but the number of fares (Like Red E-Deal) Qantas is willing to sell.

pbsavage, MEL-BME-MEL is extremely popular for J award flights, people on A/D/LONE* and high-yielding passengers flying to BME for a weekend getaway. It's difficult to determine your chances of getting an upgrade, but the best advice would be to keep trying. I've known QF F/As who have operated BME-MEL/SYD with a full J cabin, yet only 20-50% load in Y.

Cheers

Not necessarily at all. If a D or J fare is sold it might drop to J1D0. There could be 2 seats total available or there could be 3 or there could even, iirc, be more
